Preparing for JEE Advanced in the last  7 days can be a panic for many students. But this isn’t the time to take stress. It’s time to:-

  • Focus on your preparations

  • Revise through notes; the concept is the same

  • Be confident

  • Apply the strategy in all practice papers

  • Remember if it’s tough for you it’s tough for everyone

  • We don’t require 100%, divide your time and subject to cover all and pass in all.

  • Main and Advanced are different in nature, so should be our preparation.

  • Final practice with full-length papers

Things to remember during JEE Advanced 2023 Preparations

IIT provides 3 minutes for each question:- JEE examination papers are designed as dividing 3 minutes to each question in the whole paper, utilising those 3 minutes properly.

Take a sip of water every 30 minutes:-  It should be almost 6 papers for half an hour rather than a single paper of 3 hours, so take a sip of water every 30 minutes and maintain the flow without any tension.

No extra topics now:- Maintain your strength along with working on your weakness and don’t jump to anything new now.

Must take an eye on the time:-  Properly divide time for particular subjects. Ideally 45 minutes for chemistry, 1 hour for physics, 1 hour 15 minutes for maths.

Start Solving with the Physics for JEE Advanced 2023

Generally, physics has the lowest average among all three. But the questions in physics are usually twerked where you have to keep things in mind which formula should be considered, while in maths and chemistry questions are very direct.

  1. Give your 10 minutes to read the question:- Utilise your 10 minutes reading all the questions and save the time of reading it in breaks.
  2. Select the right questions:- 12 out of 18 questions are easy to go with the remaining 6 are the game changers. So, after reading all the questions go for those ones that you find easy for you, and don’t waste your time on the difficult ones and avoid negative marking.
  3. Read notes again and again:-  The questions that you’ve practised all the time while your preparations are the questions that you are going to face, so keep revising them.
  4. Must go through previous year's papers:- If you want to do well go through all the questions from previous year's papers, even if you can’t solve them, go thoroughly through the questions and try to understand the briskness of the questions and write it on the side.
  5. Don’t become a mechanics maniac:-  Mechanics cover only 25% of the syllabus so try to cover the maximum types of questions and not stick to only one.

JEE Advanced 2023: Mathematics Section

  1. Sequence isn’t necessary:- Students, it's not necessary that you attempt the first question at first, you should go for the types of questions that you think have been solved during practice and are easy for you.
  2. Remember as many results as possible:-  In maths try to remember answers as much as possible, for example, if you’ll solve a determinant question, it’ll take 2-3 minutes but if you do remember identity and their product, it’ll save you time.
  3. Do make a list of vectors, determinants, or standard, exclusive, and rare results of chapters that are hard to remember. So, remember as much as possible.
  4. Calculus is necessary but not sufficient:-  We spend most of our time in the calculus part and start thinking that it’s more important than other topics, but we have to focus on all topics and cover them all.
  5. Be confident in combinatorics:- In this chapter, we always think that we are doing something wrong or something is left, so if you are having doubt that any case has been left in your exam skip that and don’t lose your marks. Go for it when you are sure about it and solve it with peace of mind and use your logic. Train yourself to cover it in 3 minutes.
  6. Go through some solved examples:- It’ll improve your accuracy. You’ll analyse that practising the same questions will help you and take less time to solve that in the next attempt. And do understand the concept.
  7. 99% accuracy is not worth:- Try to understand the question first and answer what the question is actually asking about, don’t leave the question partially, get to the end result. Solving it perfectly won’t help you if you are not coming up with the required answer. So just read the question again after solving what the question is asking about.
  8. Solve through options if possible:- Do look for the options while reading the questions, the options themselves hint you with the answer, or sometimes by just looking at the options you may get your answer.

JEE Advanced 2023: Chemistry Section

  1. Organic: Look for all the name reactions and their mechanism, it’ll help you with conversion questions and must go through the previous year's questions.
  2. Inorganic: In these 7 days try to revise inorganic chemistry every day.
  3. Physical: While preparing for physical chemistry do analyse the varieties of questions in your previous year's papers, when you analyse and understand those 12 varieties it’ll be easy for you to judge what logic you have to apply.

Conclusion

JEE Advanced examination is the point that decides whether you’ll get your choice of institute or not. Hence, it’s important to prepare well but 7 days aren't sufficient for it so preparing smartly is the key. Choosing the right sequence, the right division of time, and the right selection of questions can make you select.
